EMILY BOURKE: Most people have taken a pretty grim outlook when it comes to the state of the global book industry.
Stores are closing rapidly, big companies are going broke and more and more readers are turning on their iPads or Kindles instead.
But North America correspondent Lisa Millar caught up with a first time author who's convinced it's an exciting time to break into the world of publishing.
